Arts Consulting
Your art deserves a strategy.
Kia Baird is a classically trained vocalist, founder of KiaB Music, and a consultant who has lived the artist's journey — from the Cotton Club stage to the boardroom. She brings that experience to every artist she works with.
Advice from someone who's actually done it.
Kia Baird isn't a consultant who studied artists from the outside. She is one. A classically trained soprano who has performed at the historic Harlem Cotton Club, shared the stage with jazz greats Slide Hampton, Nicholas Payton, and Antonio Hart, and sung in the African American opera Barefoot — narrated by the late Dr. Maya Angelou.
That experience is the foundation of KiaB Music, the artist management and development company Kia founded to support, benefit, and enrich artists of all kinds. When she sits across from a client, she brings the full weight of that journey — the hustle, the strategy, the hard lessons — to every conversation.
What we work on together
New Artist Launch
Start with a foundation that holds
New artists often skip the strategy and go straight to the work — which means building on sand. Kia helps emerging creatives define their artistic identity, establish their brand presence, set pricing and positioning, and build the habits and systems that make a career sustainable from day one.
- Clear artistic identity and positioning statement
- Brand presence across the right platforms
- Pricing and packaging that reflects your value
- A 90-day action plan you'll actually follow
Brand Building for Established Artists
Stop being the best-kept secret in your field
You've put in the years. The work is strong. But something isn't translating — the visibility, the opportunities, the income aren't matching the quality of what you create. Kia works with established artists to audit what's working, identify what's holding them back, and build a brand strategy that finally matches their talent.
- Brand audit: what's working, what's not, what's missing
- Repositioning strategy for your next chapter
- Revenue diversification and new opportunity mapping
- Visibility plan: media, partnerships, and platform growth
The approach
Honest counsel. Practical strategy.
Kia studied the business of music at Winston-Salem State University, trained classically with Wake Forest professor and acclaimed tenor Richard Heard, and studies with internationally sought-after soprano Jolie Rocke Brown. She founded KiaB Music to fill the gap she experienced firsthand — artists with extraordinary talent who lacked the business foundation to sustain a career. Every engagement reflects that mission: no fluff, no cheerleading, just clear thinking and a plan that works.
Start with truth
Before strategy comes clarity. Kia helps you see your situation honestly — strengths, gaps, and all.
Build for sustainability
A career that burns bright for two years isn't the goal. The work is building something that lasts.
Stay in your art
Strategy should serve your creative vision, not replace it. Kia keeps the business side in its proper place.
